Multi-campus Window Wraps – 2025
A window wrap design place on student-facing buildings in Macon, Cochran, Dublin, and Warner Robins. While the design is rather straightforward, the process of getting this done was anything but. Outside of finding a standardized design that worked for 4 buildings with wildly different window layouts, getting the measurements just right and prepping the files correctly was a headache; multiple revisions, trips to other campuses with a tape measure, remaking the files to match the printer’s updated specs, etc. It was a learning process for large-scale projects to be sure. Designed in Adobe Illustrator.
Honey Labels – 2023
A label for bottles of honey harvested by MGA’s Department of Natural Sciences. Other than the text, the brief was very open-ended; just make it obvious it’s honey from MGA. Thankfully, bees are the best and have an established image, so I started with ‘hexagons but purple’ and went from there. While I still think ‘Knight’s Nectar’ was a good name, the client liked the middle option the best. Designed in Adobe Illustrator.
Southeastern Journal of Social Justice Logos – 2022
Logo options for MGA’s School of Education’s publication, the Southeaster Journal of Social Justice. This was a very open-ended brief; just the title, the phrase “Diversity. Equity. Inclusion.,” and an option to add a graphic element. I concentrated on giving a wide array of font and color options to help the client narrow their focus. There wasn’t any more info to inform the graphics at this stage, so I used ‘Southeastern’ to mean ‘lower-left’ as it is on a map’s compass and focused on geometric shapes that could be used as an stand-alone icon. While the magazine itself never quite got off the ground, I’m still happy with the number and variety of options I provided. Designed in Adobe Illustrator.
The Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Logo – 2019
A logo for the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CEI) on MGA’s Warner Robins Campus. The CEI was originally conceived as a place where local businesses, community members, and workers at Robins Air Force Base could collaborate with MGA faculty and students to solve tech-related problems. The logo features multiple points of a hexagon coming together in the center to reflect the Center’s purpose (pun fully intended), supported by MGA colors and a thin, geometric, sans-serif font for a tech feel. Designed in Adobe Illustrator.
Delta Cap Logo – 2019
A logo in partnership with Delta Airlines for the College Achievement Pathway (CAP) program; accelerated online degree programs for Delta employees and their families. This was one of my earliest ‘big’ projects as the logo was required to adhere to Delta’s brand guidelines and be approved by several higher-ups in Delta marketing and administration. While there are some things I might change with hindsight like the horizontal line thickness and the font choice, I’m still proud of it. Designed in Adobe Illustrator.
Aviation Airport Banner – 2021
MGA Online Flyer for Adult Learners – 2024
A flyer targeting non-traditional Adult Learners. One of the constant challenges in higher education marketing is the sheer amount of information required for most pieces and this is a great example. Originally a 2.5 page Word doc, I managed to squeeze everything in while still maintaining a visual hierarchy and a bit of graphical embellishment. Designed in Adobe Illustrator.
NSSE Flyer – 2023
A flyer advertising the National Survey of Student Engagement to current MGA freshmen and seniors. Our client specifically wanted a flyer in the official NSSE colors for that year, blue and orange, but mixing in MGA’s mascot, Duke. So I took a photo of Duke, converted into a purple halftone, and put him next to the header text with a lot of movement with diagonal lines to drum up some excitement. I then added halftone patterns in the background for emphasis and to mirror Duke. Halftone Duke created with Adobe Photoshop, the rest designed in Adobe Illustrator.
Our Wedding Invitation – 2018
One of the greatest benefits of being a graphic designer is getting to make things for people you love, like design your own wedding invitation! In brief, this is a love letter to my wife, Hannah. I started with her favorite color, green, picking a light tint to match both her whimsy and the delicate, refined nature of a wedding. I filled in the text with a script font and a thin san-serif for the content. Then, I drew 4 daisies, her favorite flower, on card stock and asked a friend of mine to photograph them. I then plopped those photos in Photoshop and added a gentle gradient map to match the green used everywhere else. The back is a straightforward photo from our engagement shoot, plus our names and the date, functioning as a great reminder to put on a fridge without overwhelming with info up front. Flowers drawn in graphite, edited with Photoshop, and full invitation put together in InDesign.
Knights Athletics Association Bifold – 2025
A bifold to stakeholders about the recreation of the Knights Athletics Association (KAA), the center of fundraising for MGA’s athletics programs. While the inside is mostly informational with a slight athletics flair, the front & back of the outside was the real challenge. We needed something unique to the KAA so it stood out, but still falling within the MGA brand and Knight motif. I ended up repurposing an unused report cover that focused on a brushed metal texture with purple highlights. We added in some black to closer match the athletics logo and it was quickly approved! Textures and text created in Adobe Photoshop; final bifold file created in Adobe Illustrator.
Duke Dollars Postcard – 2023
A postcard to MGA applicants who had not yet completed their Financial Aid paperwork. The idea for this came very quickly in the process, but the technical side took some time. I started with a scan of a US dollar bill, but then had to manipulate it in Photoshop quite a bit to properly fit the postcard’s size. Then it was a matter of finding a good dollar-esque font, matching the colors and style, and putting in as many 2023 easter eggs as I reasonably could. Designed in Adobe Photoshop.
Residence Life ad – Macon Magazine 2023
A half-page ad for MGA’s Residence Life that ran in Macon Magazine in 2023. We used a great drone shot of our newest residence hall, so I focused on that as the main visual. Since it also happened to show off the rest of the Macon campus, I used the arrows to pair “Live” with the residence hall and “Learn” with the largest building on campus. It’s an efficient way to show off both how nice the newest dorm was while also highlighting the short distance to classes. The primary font and rounded shape for the logo & URL matches the Viewbook design used at the time. Designed in Adobe Illustrator.
